Ingredients

Marinade

  • 1 tbsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger and garlic paste
  • 10 chicken thighs, chopped

Sauce

  • 2 red onions, finely diced
  • Oil for frying onions (amount not given)
  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes (typical UK can size ~400 g / about 14 oz, size not stated in caption)
  • About 3/4 of the can of water (to rinse/add after the tomatoes)
  • 2 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tbsp turmeric
  • 3/4 tbsp chili powder
  • 3/4 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp fenugreek
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 150 ml double cream (about 2/3 cup heavy cream / heavy whipping cream)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Chopped coriander (cilantro) for garnishing (amount not given)

Garlic Butter Naan

  • Naan bread (store-bought; amount not given, “can get it from any supermarket”)
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp fenugreek

Method

  1. Marinade your chicken thighs in yogurt and the spices. Leave to marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
  2. Once complete, put on a baking tray and grill (UK grill = broil) at 210°C (about 410°F) for 25 minutes.
  3. Fry your chopped onions until golden brown (oil amount not given), then add your chopped tomatoes followed by 3/4 of the can of water. Mix until well incorporated and then add in your spices. Cook for a further 10 minutes on low heat.
  4. Let the sauce cool down and then blend the sauce until smooth.
  5. Place the sauce back into the pan followed by the cooked chicken thighs. Mix well. Add in your double cream, butter and finish off with fresh coriander (cilantro). Cook for a further 10 minutes on low heat.
  6. Enjoy!
